The Marshall Island have provided us with an updated Marine
Safety Advisory (MSA) regarding expiring STCW Certificates of Proficiency and
lack of renewal due to covid 19.
If you hold an IYT Marshall Islands STCW’95 Basic Training
Certificate and it is time for renewal during Covid-19 and you are unable to
undertake Refresher Training due to travel restrictions or school closures,
please read this RMI Marine Safety Advisory “MSA-2021-07-1”
section 5.
If your IYT Marshall Islands STCW’95 Basic Training
Certificate is due to expire, you are granted an extended validity to 31
December 2021. You must continue to
carry your expired certificate and print this MSA and keep with your
certificate to present to any authorities requesting to see your
qualification.
We will continue to check the Republic of Marshall Islands
site for new advisories if Covid-19 continues to be an issue.
Thank you,
The IYT Team
