The Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) have provided a pathway for IYT certificate holders to gain AMSA certificates of competency. 

The IYT certificates AMSA will accept in an application as part of the prerequisites to obtain AMSA Certificates of Competencies are:

  • IYT Master of Yachts Coastal Certificate of competence ("Sail" or "Power and Sail") 
  • IYT Master of Yachts Limited Certificate of competence ("Sail" or "Power and Sail")
  • IYT Small Powerboat & RIB Master Certificate
  • IYT Boat Engineer Grade 1 Certificate of Attendance (can be used for engineering component required for application for Sailing Master CoCs.
